Our Story
After 15 years trading stocks on Wall Street, Jonathan Shelley traded tickers for timber. He started Full Circle Woodworx in 2013 with a simple mission: salvage the beautiful hardwoods that suburban South Jersey was sending to landfills and put them back into the hands of makers, builders, and dreamers.
From our showroom at 1300 Route 206 in Tabernacle, we carry an ever-changing selection of kiln-dried live-edge slabs, dimensional hardwoods, and specialty cuts — all milled right here in New Jersey. No two pieces are alike. That's the point.
What We Do
From the tree in your yard to the table in your dining room — Full Circle Woodworx handles every step. Here's everything Jon can do for you.
Live Edge Slab Sales
Jon carries an ever-changing selection of kiln-dried live edge slabs in walnut, white oak, cherry, maple, ash, elm, sycamore, and more. Every slab is unique — no two pieces are the same. Perfect for dining tables, bar tops, countertops, desks, shelving, and statement furniture of any kind. Visit the showroom by appointment and Jon will walk you through every piece in stock.
Dimensional Hardwood Lumber
Need boards for a furniture build, cabinetry project, or custom millwork? Jon stocks kiln-dried dimensional lumber in most popular domestic species — available in 4/4, 5/4, 6/4, 8/4, and thicker. All material is properly dried and ready to work. He also works with sawmills in Pennsylvania to stay fully stocked on the species his customers need most.
Portable On-Site Sawmill
Have a tree come down on your property? Jon brings his fully hydraulic bandsaw mill directly to you. He can cut logs into live edge slabs, dimensional lumber, beams, mantels, or anything else you need — right on site. He works with homeowners, municipalities, contractors, and tree service companies across South Jersey. Mill as soon as possible after the tree comes down for the best results.
Kiln Drying Services
Jon operates both a solar-powered kiln and a vacuum kiln. He can dry your own freshly milled lumber to furniture-grade moisture content (6–8%) — eliminating warping, cupping, twisting, and any insects or larvae in the wood. Pricing is per board foot. Most loads run approximately 3 weeks after proper air drying. Bring your lumber to the Tabernacle location or arrange pickup.
Wood Shop Services
Jon's shop is set up to get your material project-ready. He offers slab flattening, planing to thickness, custom crosscutting and ripping to size, glue-ups for wide panels, and progressive sanding up to a finish-ready surface. Whether you bought a slab from him or brought your own, he can handle any step between raw lumber and a surface ready for oil, epoxy, or lacquer.
Urban Timber Salvage
Jon partners with municipalities, arborists, and tree service companies to rescue urban trees that would otherwise be chipped or sent to a landfill. If your town, business, or property has trees coming down, Jon can coordinate pickup and salvage — turning what would be waste into heirloom-quality lumber. It's the philosophy the business was built on, and it's how Full Circle stays fully stocked with locally sourced, one-of-a-kind material.
Showroom Consultation & Species Selection
Not sure what species, thickness, or cut you need? Jon will sit down with you, look at your project plans, and walk you through every option — no pressure, no upselling, just honest advice from someone who knows the wood inside and out. He has helped interior designers, architects, contractors, furniture makers, and first-time DIYers all find exactly the right material for their projects. Call ahead to schedule a showroom visit at 1300 Route 206, Tabernacle, NJ.

What We Carry
Jon sources locally whenever possible — urban salvage, regional sawmills, and Pennsylvania suppliers — keeping the inventory fresh, unique, and rooted in the Northeast. Every species below is available as live edge slabs, dimensional lumber, or both, depending on current stock.
Black Walnut
Rich chocolate-brown heartwood with creamy sapwood contrast. The most sought-after species for live edge dining tables and statement furniture. Excellent workability and a stunning natural figure.
White Oak
Tight grain, warm tan tones, and exceptional durability. A designer favorite for dining tables, bar tops, and kitchen counters. Quartersawn pieces show dramatic ray fleck that no other species can match.
Hard Maple
Pale, creamy wood with a fine, uniform texture. Incredible hardness makes it ideal for kitchen surfaces, workbenches, and flooring. Figured maple — birdseye, curly, quilted — turns up regularly in Jon's inventory.
Cherry
Warm pinkish-red tones that deepen to a rich amber with age and light exposure. Silky smooth to work and finish. A classic American hardwood with a refined look — popular for tables, shelving, and heirloom pieces.
White Ash
Bold, open grain with excellent strength and flex. Blonde to light tan tones take stains beautifully. Urban ash is particularly plentiful through Jon's salvage network — each slab carries a story.
American Elm
Interlocked grain creates a beautiful, swirling figure that no other species replicates. Urban salvage elm is one of Jon's most unique offerings — wide slabs with dramatic live edges and rich brown tones.
Sycamore
Creamy white with a distinctive lace-like ray fleck when quartersawn. Often overlooked — always stunning. Jon salvages sycamore from urban trees and dries it to bring out its quiet, elegant character.
Red Oak
The most abundant American hardwood — and one of the most versatile. Warm reddish-brown with a pronounced open grain. Available in wide slabs and dimensional boards. Excellent value for large projects.
Sassafras
A rare find with a warm olive-brown tone, mild spice scent, and beautiful grain. Lightweight and easy to work. Jon occasionally has sassafras in stock through local salvage — a unique choice for one-of-a-kind pieces.
Paulownia
Exceptionally lightweight with a straight, fine grain and pale silver-grey tone. One of the fastest-growing trees — surprisingly stable and easy to work. Great for large decorative pieces where weight matters.
Tulip Poplar
Pale green to cream tones with excellent stability and ease of use. A workhorse species — affordable, widely available, and great for painted or natural finishes. Jon stocks this year-round in dimensional form.
& More — Ask Jon
Inventory changes constantly. Jon occasionally has hickory, locust, mulberry, osage orange, boxelder, and other regional species depending on what's come through salvage. Call ahead or visit the showroom to see what's in stock.
